Enzymatica: ColdZyme to be introduced at pharmacies in Norway

Regulatory information

Enzymatica, which develops and sells products based on enzyme from deep-sea cod, announced today that several pharmacy chains in Norway have taken the decision to introduce ColdZyme ® Mouth spray for colds in their product ranges. From September this year, ColdZyme will be available for the Norwegian consumers.

The expansion into Norway is Enzymaticas first step out in markets outside Sweden.

- We are very pleased that we can now report the first results of the last six months' efforts to expand ColdZyme geographically. The launch at the pharmacies in Norway is strategically important for us because it confirms that the product has potential even outside Sweden. Our next step is to introduce the product also at the Danish pharmacy chains, says Michael Edelborg Christensen, CEO of Enzymatica.

ColdZyme will initially be sold in Norway by two of the three dominant pharmacy chains : Apotek 1 and Boots. In a similar way as in Sweden the pharmacies in Norway will be trained and developed by Enzymatica’s own local sales organization. The launch begins with the start of the autumn cold season, which usually occurs in conjunction with the school start in August-September. In conjunction with the introduction of ColdZyme, Enzymatica invests in a launch campaign in media.

The Norwegian market is about half the size of the Swedish market based on population. In Sweden, the value of OTC products in the cold category, was approximately SEK 735 million in 2013, according to industry statistics.*

About the ColdZyme® Mouth Spray
The ColdZyme® Mouth Spray reduces the risk of contracting a cold and shortens the sickness duration by creating an active enzyme barrier of a thin protecting film in the throat. The barrier ingests the virus and the enzyme is actively seeking to make it impossible for the virus to attach to target cells.

Since 2013 the product is sold via pharmacies and health specialist stores in Sweden. During the first quarter of 2014 the product advanced to the pharmacies top 3 list of the best selling cold products, seen in value.
